  • This presentation will describe the need for formal academic programs in vascular access to guide practice changes, and build clinician value.

  • This is a case study, based on the presenter’s recent experience as the first U.S. nurse to pursue both clinical and theoretical specialization in vascular access through graduate nursing education.

  • There will be a detailed review of how to pursue graduate nursing education in vascular access using the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner path, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice curriculum.
