For the third year in a row, GulfVAN is celebrating IV Nurses week at this meeting in conjunction with Gulfcoast INS and FLAVAN. Come feel Matt's passion for the field of vascular access!

The objectives of this presentation are:

1. Articulate the barriers and opportunities facing peripheral access.

2. Incorporate the patient perspective in the continuity and consistency of care

Identify two or more areas of opportunity for the clinician to expand vascular access offerings.

Sponsored by our friends at BD and Access Scientific- THANK YOU!

Matthew Ostroff began his career in healthcare as an Emergency Medical Technician on September 11th 2001 in NYC. He went on to become a NYC 911 Paramedic for six years completing his career earning the 2006 NYC Paramedic of the Year.  From the streets he stepped directly into the Emergency Department as a registered nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital.  It was here that he would discover his true passion, vascular access.  Working with the Director of Ultrasound he honed his skills with peripherally guided ultrasound IV access, and later went onto become a PICC line specialist at NY Methodist hospital.  Matt’s experience as a paramedic and ER nurse would lead him to believe that vascular access begins at the moment a patient enters the hospital.  Matthew has had the privilege of sharing his vision for vascular access speaking throughout the US, Canada, Latin America and as the Keynote Speaker at the 28th Annual Association for Vascular Access National Meeting.  Matthew is proud to have developed a hybrid ultrasound guided bedside vascular access program at St Joseph’s Hospital in Patterson, New Jersey where he works full time as the Vascular Access Coordinator.
