LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Review the 2021 Infusion Nurses Society (INS) Standards pertaining to stabilization, securement, and prevention of vascular access related bloodstream infections (BSI).
Discuss the components and characteristics of tissue adhesives.
Review BSI related to vascular access device use and the impact TA has on prevention.
Assess catheter stabilization and discuss the negative impact when VADs are not properly secured.
Analyze the expected clinical outcomes when tissue adhesive is used with VADs.
