Peripheral IV Insertion Workshop

This program is designed for nurses and nursing students who wish to improve their technique and success when starting peripheral IVs.

Speakers:

Kay Coulter, RN, CRNI, VA-BC

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Describe and identify the vascular anatomy related to peripheral veins
State four appropriate methods for the assessment and distention of veins for peripheral catheterization
Demonstrate the basic steps involved in the insertion of a peripheral IV catheter
Implement accepted standards of care for peripheral IV catheters
